A group of sailors embark upon an expedition giving pursuit to Mocha Dick, the dreaded white whale of every port. Mocha Dick is an epic journey through an ocean full of monsters. A sea tale centered on our fears and the courage of facing them, told through the pacing of an adventure-genre, so rarely seen in theatre.

Since its beginnings, La Mona Ilustre has been a touring company. We’ve been in Chile, Mexico, France, Belgium, Spain, Norway, Brazil, Argentina and Taiwan. We aspire to keep broadening the scope of our audiences by performing in other countries, with a strong interest in North America, a part of the continent still unknown to us. The popular traits of the show, the big sea images on stage, live instruments, giant sized puppets, songs, and the surreal humor of the only sailors who agreed to take part in such an ill-fated journey merge in a scenic adventure as risky as the story being told, affordable for all audiences, universal and prepared for touring.
