The World Inside Me is a celebration of the ways our bodies grow, develop, move, and explore from birth to age 5. Told through music, sensory play, and bold theatrical moments, this show creates a welcoming world in which children and their caregivers can explore what makes us unique, and what ties us all together.
The Spellbound Theatre ensemble developed this project as New Victory Theatre LabWorks Artists in Residence in 2017. We knew we needed to bring this quirky and magical celebration of the human body to family audiences across the country. We expanded our creative team, with a particular emphasis on including artists with disabilities. The World Inside Me premiered as a co-production with the Chicago Children's Theatre in February 2019, and toured to Miami Theatre Center and the New Victory Theatre in Spring 2019. An IPAY showcase will help us bring this show to even more families in the years to come.
